Announcements

Please be advised we believe citrus canker (as pictured, see links below) exists in Georgia.

Samples have been sent for testing and results are expected the week of 5/22.

The grower took immediate cautionary action by excavating, then burning the suspicious trees. The Georgia Department of Agriculture & USDA are taking steps to help control the spread of the canker and do what is best to protect Georgia’s Citrus industry.

If you have a suspicious looking tree or fruit, please don’t wait; promptly contact your local county extension office for Assistance in finding out what could be wrong with your tree. To protect Our burgeoning citrus industry here in Georgia, commercial growers and homeowners alike should be diligent in tree care and maintenance by scouting for pests and disease and eliminating (destroying) such when found.
